TuckBuddy Privacy Policy
TuckBuddy helps you keep track of what you own and where it is. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it.
Your inventory stays yours
Everything you add to TuckBuddy (homes, rooms, items, photos, notes, tags and lists) is stored on your device and in your own iCloud account, using Apple's iCloud. We don't run a server that holds your inventory, and we can't see it. Apple's privacy policy covers how iCloud stores your data.
Anonymous usage statistics
TuckBuddy sends a small number of anonymous usage signals through a service called TelemetryDeck, for example that the app was opened, or that an item was added and whether it was added with a photo or by scanning a book. These signals contain no names, no item details, no photos and nothing you've typed. They aren't linked to your identity and aren't used for advertising or tracking. We use them only to understand which parts of the app are used, so we can improve it.
Book lookups
When you scan a book's barcode or type its ISBN, TuckBuddy sends that number to public book catalogs to find the title, author and cover: Google Books, Open Library and Apple's iTunes Search. Only the number is sent. TuckBuddy doesn't look up other barcodes (groceries, DVDs, music or other products). Those services' own privacy policies apply to the request.
Camera and photos
TuckBuddy uses your camera only when you choose to take a photo or scan a book, and your photo library only when you choose a photo. Photos are saved with your items in your iCloud, as described above.
Deleting your data
You can delete any item, room or home in the app. To remove everything, delete TuckBuddy's data from iCloud in your iPhone's Settings: tap your name, then iCloud, then Manage Storage (or Storage), then TuckBuddy.
Children
TuckBuddy isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the effective date above.
